The “Sdggrmss” or Doppeltaschenwagen is essentially the bigger articulated, therefore 6-axled, version of the standard Taschenwagen used for intermodal transport services in central Europe. They are designed to haul both containers and/or truck trailers

Back in 2014 Gerbrand van den Eeckhout aka Raised had the idea to build these (at the time rather underrepresented) type of waggons. With his initial design out in the open, many other builders used his design techniques as an inspiration to build similiar types of these pocket waggons.
If you’d like to know more, he wrote a three part essay about his building process for Brick-Model-Railroader!
Part one: The prototype
Part two: The design
Part three: The builds
Over the years Gerbrand’s design has been extensively modified and upgraded by us and the community, but with his explicit permission we’re now able to share this particular community design publicly.

Build vastely similiar to the Talbot T3 “Einheitstaschenwagen” Sdgms [4 color versions] & the Hupac/Wascosa T5 “Taschenwagen” Sdgnss, the “Doppeltaschenwagen” is able to carry 2×2 20ft Containers, two 40ft Containers or two truck trailers.
Compatible Containers/Trailers can be found & downloaded here on Open-L-Gauge.eu
Custom parts: As with many of our designs, custom ball bearings of the “MR52ZZ“-Type are needed
