Licence & Copyright
The goal of Open L-Gauge is to make high quality brick train models available to everyone in the community, but we do want to set some rules for how these models can be used.
To make everything as clear as possible, all models uploaded to Open L-Gauge are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence. (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)
All models on Open L-Gauge are available for free, but we encourage users to give a small PayPal donation to the designer of a model. This donation is entirely optional, and does not entitle you any extra rights.

The following is a human-readable summary of (and not a substitute for) the full license
You are free to:
Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material
Under the following terms:
Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
Please review the full licence before you download any models.
What is “appropriate credit”?
What counts as “appropriate credit” depends on the context and the medium in witch the model is presented, but should include the following:
- The name of the designer of the model
- A link to the model’s download page
- A licence notice and a link to the licence
- Whether you made any changes to the model
The following is an example of appropriate credit when sharing a model that you modified:
