Open goods wagons have been the bread and butter of every railway freight operation for decades. They’re an extremely versatile wagon, capable of carrying a wide variety of loads. With the addition of a sheet support these wagons could also protect their goods from the weather as well.
This model is based off on Swindon drawing O11 of a 10 ton open goods wagon with sheet support. I have opted not to include the sheet support in this model and also due to the “scale” of Lego plates the 5 planks are not represented as accurately I would have hoped.
I have numbered my wagons based on the lot numbers on http://www.greatwestern.org.uk/ as finding enough real wagon numbers was proving difficult, and the size of the lettering was getting a bit small!

These designs can easily be built in various colours to create private owners wagons if you want to vary your rolling stock.
