Instantly recognisable, the 20 ton Toad brake van is synonymous with freight operations on the GWR. More than 20 of these have survived into preservation and many are used to offer rides to members of the public. These brake vans gained their name ‘Toad’ from the GWR telegraphic code and the name has stuck with them ever since.

This 1:43 model has been designed at 8 wide using standard Lego parts with some light modification. It’s construction leaves little room inside but does offer space outside to fit a minifig guardsman.
